Plumsted Emergency Management Activated For Storm
|
|
|
|
The day before this Winter season officially began, this region was hit with the
largest amount of snowfall for the month of December in more than 100 years and,
on December 20th, Plumsted’s Office of Emergency Management was
activated.
Whether it is a snow or ice storm this Winter, anyone who may need special
assistance in an emergency, Plumsted Township’s Office of Emergency Management
has implemented the “We Care” program in conjunction with the Ocean County
Office of Emergency Management.
To be enrolled in the “We Care” program, residents should call the Office of
Emergency Management’s toll free number 1-800-331-8152 to request a “We Care”
application. Once the form is completed, it should be returned to the Plumsted
Township Office of Emergency, 2 Cedar Street, New
Egypt, N.J. to the attention of Emergency Management Coordinator, Linda Salcfas. The phone number for Plumsted’s Office
of Emergency Management (OEM) is: 609-758-6626.
The “We Care” program will enable Plumsted’s Emergency Management officials to
better plan for the safety of residents needing special assistance in the event
of an emergency, i.e. loss of electrical power, evacuations for shelter and
food, etc.
