Plumsted Awarded $103,000 D.O.T. Grant

The State Department of Transportation's Director of Local Aid and Economic Development, Michael Russo, has notified Plumsted Township that it has been awarded $103,000 in grant funding to pay for road construction and drainage improvements on two municipally owned streets, Applegate Lane and Helen Street.
Applegate Lane, a connector street between the County Roads of Route 528 (Lakewood Road) and Archertown Road, will be repaved with $67,000 in State grant funding.
Helen Street, located off Cedar Street in the vicinity of the Township's Police Department and Recycling Center, will have paving and drainage improvements with $36,000 in State grant funding from the State's Transportation Trust Fund.
The paving and drainage improvements on Applegate Lane and Helen Street are expected to begin later this Summer and be completed this Fall.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of Township Committee members Eric Sorchik, Steve Reed and Deputy Mayor Dave Leutwyler is the first Wednesday of each month (July 7) at 8 pm.
