RESOLUTION NO. 2010-21 

RESOLUTION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PLUMSTED,

COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY,

PROVIDING DATES OF TOWNSHIP MEETINGS FOR

        WHEREAS, the Open Public Meetings Act of 1996 requires public bodies to provide notice of all meetings in an effort to enhance the proper functioning of the Democratic process; and

      WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Mayor and Township Committee of the Township of Plumsted to implement and adhere to the provisions of said Act.

       NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Township Committee of the Township of Plumsted, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey, as follows:

1.  That pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 10:4-6, Section 13, the Mayor and Township Committee do hereby designate the following dates for its 2009 meetings unless otherwise modified by a resolution of this Committee for the months of January through December, inclusive.  Executive and Workshop meetings are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. followed by Regular meetings which are scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. Formal action may be taken at the regular meetings beginning at 8:00 PM.

            January 5  (1^st Tuesday – 6:30 PM)    August 4  (1^st Wednesday)

February 3 (1^st Wednesday)                   September 1 (1^st Wednesday)

            March 3 (1^st Wednesday)                        October 6 (1^st Wednesday)

April 7 (1^st Wednesday)                           November 3 (1^st Wednesday)

May 5 (1^st Wednesday)                            December 1  (1^st Wednesday

June 2 (1^st Wednesday)                           

            July 7 (1^st Wednesday)                                        

             2011 Reorganizational Meeting, Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 6:30 PM
                

2.  All meetings shall be held in the Municipal Building and a copy of this resolution shall be posted and maintained throughout the year on the Bulletin Board, front entrance hall, Municipal Building, 121 Evergreen Road, New Egypt, New Jersey.

            3.  A copy of this resolution shall be mailed by certified mail, return receipt requested, to the following newspapers circulated in Ocean County, said meetings to be published as a public service:

                (a) The Tri-Town News

                (b) The Asbury Park Press

                (c)  The Trenton Times

                (d) The Messenger Press

            4.   A copy of this resolution shall be filed with the Municipal Clerk of the Township of Plumsted.

             5.  Any person may request in writing that the Township Committee mail a copy of the schedule of regular, executive, workshop, policy and departmental meetings of the Committee and/or advance written notice of special or rescheduled meetings of the Committee.  Upon prepayment by such person of the applicable fee hereinafter set forth, such schedule and/or advance notice shall be mailed to such person.  All requests made pursuant hereto shall terminate midnight December 31st of the current year subject to renewal thereafter upon the filing of a new written request to the Township Committee together with prepayment of the applicable fee.  Notices requested by the news media shall be mailed free of charge.

SCHEDULE OF MAILING FEES

Copy of schedule of regular meetings and revisions thereto - $5.00.

Advance written notice of all special or emergency meetings during the calendar year ---------$10.00

            6.  Upon the affirmative vote of three quarters (3/4) of the Committee present, the Township Committee may hold a meeting without compliance with the notice requirements of this resolution, if such meeting is requested to deal with matters of such urgency and importance that delay for the purpose of providing adequate notice would likely result in substantial harm to the public interest.
