Herb Marinari was officially appointed to the Township Committee, at the December 7th public meeting, to fill the unexpired term of former Township Committeeman Steve Reed. Mr. Marinari, at the time of his appointment, stepped down from the Board of Education where he had served for 22 years, of which 15 years was as Chairman.

For his most recent term on the Board of Education, Mr. Marinari had won after more than 800 local residents wrote his name in on their ballots as a personal choice, a record for any write-in candidate in Plumsted Township. In accordance with the vacancy laws, Mr. Marinari has indicated that he will seek election in the next November General Election in 2012 to continue his service on the Township Committee.

The Mayor and Township Committee have appointed Herb Marinari to serve as a liaison for the Township to the Board of Education, in addition to numerous other committee assignments.
