As the New Year started a the jolly old elf but now retiring Santa after a very few days stopped by to wish every one a Happy New Year and to present to the entire Plumsted Township Committee a plaque that reads,
“This Certificate is presented to Plumsted Township Committee In recognition of all your support for operation Santa. We couldn’t have done without you.
"

For the past 15 years Mr. and Mrs. Michael Benhan have portrayed Santa and Mrs. Clause for the children of Plumsted Township. It is a credit to them to have so wonderful of hearts to be kind to the children for all these years Mr. Sorchik noted and that for some lucky children in Plumsted they only know one Santa as they had grown up knowing only Mr. And Mrs. Benhan. Mayor Dancer noted their kindness to by naming them VIP’s which makes our community special.
