Education & Learning The Plumsted Township School
District services almost 1500 students, kindergarten through grade 12. ( With a
special education student pre-kindergarten) Students in kindergarten to grade 4
attend the New Egypt Elementary School. Students in grades 5-8 attend the New
Egypt Middle School.
Beginning in September 1999, students in grade 9
will attend the New Egypt High School. Students in grades 10-12 attend
Allentown High School, part of the Upper Freehold Regional School District. The
1999-2000 ninth grade class, and all classes to follow, will only attend New
Egypt High School.
The School district has been cited for having state
academic test results in the top 10% for its district type. The State
Department of Education reports that the district is in the lowest quartile for
spending. Both the New Egypt High School and New Egypt Middle School were built
within the last five years.
State of the art technology exists to offer
students an education designed to meet the needs of the 21st century--drama
productions, health and physical education, art and language arts (reading,
writing, speaking, listening, and viewing), social studies, and foreign
language. Many after school projects are offered for students and adults.
