TOWNSHIP MEETING
February 6, 2008

Press Release
February 7, 2008

At Last night’s Plumsted Township Committee meeting it wasn’t business as usual it was   “Caps for sale .25 cents” as special guest Claire Brown 8 years old and brother  Caleb Brown 8 year old read from the book of the same title.   Wearing colorful Doctor Seuss Cat in the Hat hats  they helped Proclaim “READ ACROSS AMERICA “  a wonderful program conducted statewide by NJ Education Association along with the NJ State League of Municipalities and NJ Library Association and Saturn -UAW to promote reading and adult involvement in education of Plumsted Township’s students.   In keeping with the tradition Committee member Steve Reed wore the Dr. Seuss hat while he read the Plumsted Township Proclamation.    It was a true delight to see and hear the small voices that were in great tone and dramatically emphasizing the story.

Also at last nights meeting were three recipients of Township appointments

Leaving Jackson Township after six years is Steven Millette who was appointed to the position of Plumsted Township Court Administrator who pledged to bring honor dignity and integrity to the post and fill the position most recently left by Antia Stevens who served the Township for 42 years Ms. Stevens wished him luck as Mr. Millette will begin on February 25th.

No stranger to working in the Township with the Council of the Arts as a dedicated volunteer she now was appointed to help assist the NPP Program and Main Street Program is Ms. Liz Barnes as a part – time employee.   We are sure her fine hard work ethic she brings to the Township will be a great asset to both of these programs.

Another VIP as Mayor Ron Dancer likes to refer to Volunteers In Plumsted  is the well know Fran St. Clair.  Ms. St Clair has volunteered to work with the Senior Outreach Search and will bring her wonderful personality to the position
