Town Talk
Home Visits By Mayor By Mayor Ron
Dancer March 4, 2002
Whether it be one family or a group of neighbors and
friends, the Mayor will make home visits to speak with you personally about
your concerns and issues in our Community. To schedule a home visit by the
Mayor at a mutually convenient time, call the Township at 758-2241 or the
Mayor's home at 758-3497. For those who have e-mail, contact the Mayor at:
rondancer@plumsted.org.
While the Mayor and / or the Township Committee members
are available to meet personally with residents at their Town Hall public
meetings twice a month or at the Library once a month, informal one-on-one home
visits can better build friendships and relationships. Another constituent out
reach service is also being expanded. The Township Committee's suggestion box
at the Library has proved so popular that the Committee has authorized
additional suggestion boxes placed at our other public places, such as, Town
Hall, the Municipal trailer, the Police Station and our Recreation Park
Building.
Anita Stevens, who has been our Municipal Court
Administrator for 36 years, has informed the Township Committee that Plumsted's
Court is entering the Internet Age. If one desires, summonses not requiring
Court appearances can be paid online in the near future. Plumsted will join a
trial online program overseen by the State Administrative Office of the Courts
designed as an improved service and convenience for the public.
Each online transaction will cost the Municipality nothing
and will reduce paperwork by our Court Clerks. Violators who pay online by
credit card will be assessed a service charge of $1 to $4, depending upon the
fine amount.
Free Wood Chips are now available to Plumsted residents at
our branch and leaf recycling drop-off site on Magnolia Avenue on Saturday
mornings as long as the supply lasts.
The next regularly scheduled meeting and citizen comment
period with Township Committee members Ken Francis, Ada Roberts, Bonnie Quesnel
and Deputy Mayor Joe Przywara is March 11th. Residents can
preview our business agenda, to the extent known, 48 hours prior to the meeting
on our web site: www.plumsted.org.
The Township's web site also features an e-mail link for
residents to directly communicate with your Mayor and Committee and listen to
your concerns on a daily basis.
The next personal one on one listening session with your
Mayor or Committee member at the new Library will beWednesday evening, March
13th, from 7 to 9 P.M. The Township's web site also features an
e-mail link for residents to directly communicate with your Mayor and Committee
and listen to your concerns on a daily basis.
