International Dog Show In Plumsted

The 2008 Masters World Invitational Dog Sport
Tournament Event for German Shepherd Dogs will be held in Plumsted
Township June 7-8 at the New Egypt
High School, 117 Evergreen Road,
New Egypt. Traditionally, the Masters World Invitational Tournament is held in
different locations of the Nation or World and is a rare opportunity for local
residents to view the competition live.
Thirty world class
competitors will come from as far as Asia and Europe, as well as, from throughout
the United States
to participate and showcase the abilities and athleticism of the German
Shepherd. Each phase of the competition will be judged in accordance with
Olympic standards by three judges. The first place grand champion winner will
be awarded a $10,000 cash prize.
In
addition to the tournament, working K-9 in law enforcement, search and rescue
dogs and therapy dogs will demonstrate the total versatility of the German
Shepherd. Admission to the Tournament is Free for Plumsted Township
residents showing some form of ID for residency. For the general public, not
residing in Plumsted, the admission fee is $10 and all children under the age

The
Township Committee would like to publicly acknowledge and thank the Board of
Education for providing the field area for this International Event. Previewing
and leading up to the Masters World Dog Sport Tournament in June, will be the
National Competition to be held May 9 – 11 at the Township’s Recreation Park.
Residents are also
encouraged to mark their calendars to attend and support the following upcoming
events:

The National Day of Prayer will be observed on Thursday, May 1st,
in the courtroom of the Township
Municipal Building,
121 Evergreen Road,
New Egypt, beginning at 7:30 p.m. for the 15th consecutive year.
·
Cruz Night on Main Street,
Thursday, May 8th from 6 to 9 p.m. featuring the display of classic
and antique cars;
·
Relay for Life event, supporting the American Cancer Society, on
Friday, May 9th with opening ceremonies at 4 p.m. and continuing all
night until 6 a.m. on May 10th at New Egypt High School.
·
The New Egypt Day Family Street Festival in downtown New Egypt on
Saturday, May 17th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Additionally, that evening
at dusk, our Main Street Promotion Committee will be hosting an “Outdoor Family
Movie Night” at the Recreation
Park.
The next regularly scheduled public meetings with
the new administration of Township Committee members Dave Leutwyler,
Steve Reed, Eric Sorchik, Deputy Mayor Mike McCue and Mayor Ron Dancer
is Wednesday, May 7th
at
8:00 P.M.

As a result of the new Township Committee meeting
schedule, the dates for the monthly one-on-one personal meeting
sessions with Mayor Ron Dancer at the Library every month have also
been revised. In 2007, meet personally with the Mayor at the Library on
the second (2nd) Wednesday of each month (May 16th)
from 7 to 9 p.m. to discuss local concerns or State
issues. Residents
