The C.B.S. Early Show’s “Inside Addition” and the
National Prime Time T.V. show “EXTRA” are just two of the recent appearances by
Plumsted Township resident Marti Rulli, who is the author of “Goodbye Natalie,
Goodbye Splendour,” currently on the National Best Seller List in all three
categories of Biographies, Actor and Actresses and True Crime. The November 3rd
edition of “Woman’s Day” magazine features the release of Marti Rulli’s first
published book in its’ First Line – Read It This Month section.
Marti Rulli has resided in Plumsted Township
since 1992 and operates Bomar Printers on Fort Avenue in the New Egypt section. As
a teenager, Marti befriended Dennis Davern, who would become the Captain of
Robert Wagner’s yacht, as well as, Wagner’s close friend. The two, Marti Rulli
and Captain Dennis Davern, would remain in contact with each other on an
occasional basis until the tragic event of November 21, 1981, that captured the
attention of Hollywood and the Nation with the news that legendary film star
Natalie Wood was reported missing from Robert Wagner’s yacht, off the coast of
Catalina Island’s Blue Cavern Point.
The initial reports of Natalie Wood accidentally
falling off Wagner’s yacht and drowning shifted quickly from a celebrity scene
to a crime scene. In 1983, within two years of Natalie Wood’s death, Captain
Dennis Davern began taping interviews with Marti Rulli to record the events
surrounding the death of Natalie Wood. Although officially ruled an
“accidental” drowning, investigative reporting by Marti Rulli and the
publishing of “Goodbye Natalie, Goodbye Splendour” has authorities considering
to review the case.
For four years, Marti Rulli served as Plumsted Township’s Business and Merchant’s
Association Secretary. Tentatively, Marti may be doing a book signing at
Plumsted’s upcoming “Fall Fest” on Sunday, November 1st in downtown
New Egypt from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Township Committee will be presenting a
Certificate of Recognition to Marti Rulli at its’ public meeting on November 4th.
“Goodbye Natalie, Goodbye Splendour” is presently
being sold at all major bookstores, including Barnes and Noble and is available
online at Amazon.com, with reviews. Marti Rulli can be contacted by email at MartiRulli@gmail.com
or MartiRulli.Blogspot.com.
The Township will utilize
the online auction services of GovDeals Inc., located at WWW.GOVDEALS.COM
to raise revenue from the sale of hundreds of items that will go online for
bidding on October 8th and final bids will close on October 20th.
Detailed information about the items and pre-registration for bidders will be
