Message from the Mayor

June 5, 2020

I hope everyone is well. We are currently living under extremely stressful conditions. If you can get some relaxation this coming weekend, do so. These are some upcoming township issues for review:

  • Starting June 15th, the township building will be open by appointment only. More details will be posted on the township website.  Call with questions and / or to request an appointment, 609-758-2241.
  • Road work – At a special MUA meeting held last Monday, I requested an updated roadwork / closure time schedule. Once that is available – early next week – the schedule will be posted. As with any timeline project, weather and staffing can result in changes to the schedule(s).
  • Because of recent civil unrest in our nation – I met with Police Chief Earl Meroney to discuss preparations should our township be involved in unlawful activity. My hope is that no unrest develops in our town.
  • I have been notified that there are people knocking on doors – within our community – asking if the property is for sale. Do not engage with the individual – call the police immediately, 609-758-7185.
  • Businesses – With the current COVID conditions causing homeowners to be at home more, there has been an increase in the solicitation of indoors and outdoors work. Please be sure that anyone contacting you is a registered licensed business within the state. Most businesses are certified through various state and / or federal agencies. Make sure you receive as much information as possible. As always Buyer Beware. If you have any question about the legitimacy of the business please call the local police department (609-758-7185) or the township building (609-758-2241).
  • I met with Superintendent North and Business Administrator Sean Gately on Tuesday of this week. Busing was the topic of the meeting. However, other issues such as the reopening of our schools was discussed. More information will follow from the school district.

I again want to thank all those involved with the protection and safety of our community. Your continued efforts are greatly appreciated. Finally, now more than ever, don’t forget Dad on Father's Day.

Be Safe and Be Well,

Herb
