A "Pride in Plumsted" Thank You to Paradise Park Cleanup Volunteers

On May 13th, a group of youth and adult volunteers, worked tirelessly on a beautification project at Paradise Park, to enhance our natural resource at Oakford Lake. Volunteers spread a mountain of mulch, donated by Arbor Vision Tree Service, creating a carpeted trail to the lake. Various perennial flowers, trees, grasses, as well as blueberry bushes were planted to attract butterflies, birds, and other species. The assorted plants provide a colorful variety from spring through fall. They are truly a delight to the eyes.

A big shout out and thank you to the following volunteers who contributed their time and effort to maintain the beauty of our community: Megan Hilburn, Colin Hilburn, Wyatt Hilburn, Daphne Hilburn, Jay Hilburn, Emma Hilburn, Declan Hilburn, Debbie Hilburn, Debbie Asbjorn, Mary Ellen Rogers, Delaney Cruser and Fran Grilletto. Special thanks to Megan Hilburn for her expertise in accomplishing this project.

THIS SATURDAY, MAY 20TH, FROM 10 AM TO NOON, WE WILL BE SPREADING A SECOND LOAD OF MULCH. ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEERS ARE ALWAYS APPRECIATED.

We are also in need of “bird food feeder” volunteers. Over the past few years, some of our avid bird feeders have relocated or changed their work schedules. Please contact Leonard Grilletto at (609) 510-2410 or lgrilletto@plumsted.org if you are interested in volunteering for either task.
