Southern Reliability Link Natural Gas Line

The proposed Southern Reliability Link Natural Gas Line is still under litigation and pending in the courts.  However, New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) is proceeding at their own risk in areas where they have obtained road opening permits to install sections of the natural gas line.  Regarding Plumsted Township, the proposed route of the gas line is not on any Plumsted Township roads under the ownership and jurisdiction of the Township.  NJNG has obtained road opening permits to install a proposed portion of their gas line on Ocean County Roads that are under the ownership and jurisdiction of Ocean County and not the Township. NJNG has also obtained all applicable State permits and approvals. As a result, NJNG intends to install certain sections of the proposed gas line, initially, on the following county roads: on Fisher Road, West Colliers Mills Road to Rt. 539 and Lakewood Road from 539/528 to Fisher.  Plumsted Township and Plumsted Police Department will be issuing public notices.
