H1N1 CLINIC
Although the second wave of 2009 H1N1 flu is winding down, it is still very important for our population to be vaccinated. In past flu pandemics, "waves" of activity have been observed over a year or so after a new flu virus appears, with each wave lasting 6-12 weeks. An additional wave of H1N1 may occur as well as outbreaks of seasonal flu. Because the timing and spread of flu viruses are unpredictable, the CDC is continuing to recommend vaccination with seasonal flu vaccine and 2009 H1N1 vaccine.

Message from the Mayor:

Signs On Poles Against Law
Jersey Central Power and Light Company has notified municipalities to enforce a State Law that prohibits the placing of signs (political or otherwise) on public utility poles.

The State law prescribes penalties ranging from $50 to $500 for each offense. Each day of the violation may be deemed to be a separate offense...view statute

REDEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Plumsted Township Committee and the Main Street New Egypt Board of Directors are announcing an investment opportunity within the New Egypt Town Center under the economic Redevelopment Plan. The property, formerly known as Hartman’s Pharmacy, is located at 29 Main Street in New Egypt. The Township Committee and Main Street New Egypt Board are seeking interested, qualified investors to purchase and redevelop the building with the intent to continue the permitted mix uses of a first floor commercial business use and second and third floor residential use. It is also the intent to treat this project as a redevelopment project and offer the successful respondent one or more of a combination of municipal tax abatement, property tax exemptions and/or a fixed payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT) for up to 30 years. Interested persons should contact Peter Ylvisaker at 609-758-7539 for more information.
