TOWNSHIP STATEMENTS

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES -  Each year since 2006 the Mayor and Township Committee have issued Requests for Proposals for professional services (legal, engineering and financial) through the “fair and open” process. The notice of this request is posted on the Township website and in the Township’s official newspaper. The Governing Body reviews all the proposals submitted and appoints individuals to the positions of engineer, solicitor, auditor, etc. for a period of one year. All appointing resolutions and contracts are on file in the Municipal Clerk’s Office. Notice of the appointments is posted in the Township’s official newspaper.

BANKING SERVICES - The Township last issued Requests for Proposals for banking services in 2013 and adopted a resolution approving Investors Bank.

PURCHASING - The Township has a Qualified Purchasing Agent on staff. The bid threshold is currently $44,000.  All Notices to Bidders for goods and/or services being bid are placed on the Township website and in the Township’s official newspaper.

PUBLIC RECORDS INVENTORY - The administrative, financial and tax offices reviewed their documents annually and based upon the State of NJ Records Retention Schedule, Division of Archives & Records Management (DARM), request approval for destruction of documents.  The documents are then shredded.

PUBLIC AUCTIONS - The Township conducts public auctions on-line through GovDeals.  The Township has sold many surplus items. Future public auctions will be held as needed. All public auctions must receive Governing Body approval and are advertised on the Township website and in the Township’s official newspaper.

TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE COMPENSATION - The Mayor and Township Committee members receive $1.00 annually (2011-present) for their service and do not receive any fringe benefits (medical, prescription, pension etc.).

OPRA REQUESTS - In accordance with the Open Public Records Act of July, 2002, the Municipal Clerk’s Office accepts requests for municipal records for all departments, which are then forwarded to a particular department for their response. Requests are accepted on the Township’s official request form (found here:  OPRA Request) or a written request that falls within the scope of OPRA. Official forms can be obtained from the Municipal Clerk’s Office by a visit to that office, by fax or by downloading the form from the Township’s official website. The fee for the request is five cents (.05¢) for each letter size sheet of paper or smaller and seven cents (.07¢) for each legal size or larger sheet of paper.
