Monday, March 13th at 6PM

Toms River High School North Auditorium

The NJDEP's Ciba-Geigy site public session will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 13 at Toms River North High School Auditorium. The public comment period for this settlement has now also been officially extended to April 5, 2023. We encourage you to attend, ask questions, share your story, and show up for this critical issue affecting not just Toms River, but many towns in Ocean County.

This meeting is a huge step in ensuring there is public participation in the decision-making process of what happens in the Ciba site's final chapter— but there is still more work to be done in providing justice for our community. We urge you to submit your input on this settlement to the NJDEP by April 5th, before it's too late. Keep reading for more information on how to submit a public comment.

Monday's public session is being held following the news of a proposed NRD (Natural Resource Damages) Settlement between the current landowner, BASF, and the NJ Dept. of Environmental Protection. Want to learn more about NRD settlements? Interested in speaking at the session but unsure of what to say? Save Barnegat Bay has put together a quick primer with helpful information in preparation for the meeting.  (click here => What is an NRD Settlement?)

Electronic comments: can now also be submitted via email.

Commenters should provide their name and submit electronic comments to: onrr@dep.nj.gov

**If submitting electronically, we request that you please CC SpeakOut@SaveBarnegatBay.org so we can keep a record of all comments.
