Assistant Municipal Treasurer - Plumsted is seeking a qualified (full-time) individual to assist the CFO in supervising and performing duties pertaining to the accounting and auditing of township funds received and disbursed. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, knowledge of Microsoft Office and being team-oriented are essential requirements. Familiarity with Edmunds and prior municipal government experience is a plus. A bachelor’s degree, coupled with a willingness to work toward obtaining a valid certificate as a Municipal Finance Officer are prerequisites.

Assistant Municipal Treasurer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting CFO with accounting duties.
  • Preparing and communicating daily banking activity reports.
  • Assisting with the physical counting of currency.
  • Investigating and resolving discrepancies with currency transactions.
  • Documenting all daily currency.
  • Reconciling bank deposits and payments.
  • Responding to resident concerns and addressing transaction-related issues.
  • Maintaining financial records, cash logs, and spreadsheets.
  • Processing payments.
  • Other related tasks as deemed necessary.

Finance Clerk Plumsted is seeking a qualified individual (2-3 days a week) to maintain and update financial records, requisitions, vouchers, purchase orders, check processing, deposits, as well as assist with effecting the billings and collections for the township PILOT program. Must possess the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks efficiently, be team-oriented and accommodating.  Knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel and Word is essential.  Prior municipal government experience is a plus.

Finance Clerk responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing and processing financial documents such as bills, receipts, and invoices.
  • Updating and maintaining the database, financial records, and filing systems.
  • Tracking and monitoring financial transactions.
  • Reviewing financial records, documents, and information to ensure their accuracy.
  • Performing account reconciliations and basic audits.
  • Reporting financial discrepancies, errors and resident complaints to the supervisor.
  • Compiling financial spreadsheets, reports, statements, and other documents, as needed.
  • Providing customer service by answering questions and resolving queries and issues from residents.
  • Ensuring that the financial office supplies are maintained.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks such as filling out forms, filing and answering phone calls and responding to emails.

Construction Clerk – Plumsted is seeking a qualified individual (2-3 days a week) to perform a variety of clerical tasks, which include computing, classifying, verifying, and recording data in both written and electronic format. Telephone etiquette and computer proficiency, as well as excellent customer service skills are essential. Must be able to multi-task.  Knowledge of relevant software applications including MS Office, together with strong organizational and basic accounting skills are prerequisites. Previous clerical construction experience is a plus, but not required.

Construction Clerk responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Receiving, screening, reviewing and verifying documents. Ensuring accuracy and completeness of assigned reports, applications and other documents.
  • Sorting, indexing, and filing checks, cash stubs, vouchers, requisitions and other materials, numerically, alphabetically or according to other predetermined classifications, while maintaining such files. 
  • Receiving applications, documents, forms and fees. Screening, sorting and assembling associated information for further processing, including outside mailings. 
  • Assembling materials and forms for distribution as directed. Hand or machine stamping of letters, papers and other documents as required. 
  • Provides general, routine information in-person and via telephone to the public. Referring complicated or non-routine inquiries to appropriate staff. 
  • Preparing routine reports or assisting in the compiling of reports by gathering data, tabulating results, and/or preparing simple charts. Maintaining records and files properly and logically. 
  • Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and computerized information systems employed by the township. 

Working Maintenance Supervisor – Plumsted is seeking an individual, possessing knowledge of the building trades, cleaning procedures and maintenance services, together with exceptional organizational and time management skills. Must display strong problem solving and decision-making skills, while demonstrating a solid understanding of building maintenance, repairs, refurbishments, cleaning and prior supervising of employee(s). Understanding of building and equipment maintenance procedures, as well as knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices are essential qualifications.

Working Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining of daily work schedule(s) for department and providing municipal clerk weekly updates pertaining to completed or partially completed assignments.
  • Ability to perform all duties of the General Maintenance worker position, alongside and in conjunction with subordinate(s) on various projects or assignments.
  • Attending training webinars or in-person continuing professional education related to assorted aspects of maintenance.
  • High attention to detail, coupled with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing needs of the municipality to address daily issues as they arise.
  • Establishing strategies to meet workload time constraints.
  • Training or instructing subordinates(s) as necessary or required.
  • Coordinating daily cleaning and maintenance activities.
  • Overseeing all repairs and ensure that work is completed on time.
  • Maintaining all inventory and equipment, and ensure proper storage.
  • Complying with all health and safety regulations and practices on site.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance, repair work and follow-ups.
  • Performing safety inspections as scheduled.
  • Acquiring a pesticide operator’s certification (optional).

General Maintenance - Plumsted is seeking a qualified individual who is physically fit and possesses the ability to perform a wide variety of tasks requiring strength and stamina on a daily basis. An eagerness to learn on-the-job, as well as follow and understand instructions are essential qualities. Fulfilling assignments within a designated time frame and according to schedule is imperative. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

General Laborer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Operating assorted maintenance and construction vehicles.
  • Utilizing of power tools.
  • Hauling and transporting of goods and items from place to place.
  • Maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Conducting generalized maintenance tasks such as cleaning walkways, as well as gathering and removal of litter and garbage.
  • Attending training webinars or in-person training as required.
  • General repairs and other various duties as assigned.
  • Ability to operate maintenance equipment including lawnmowers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers and snowplow.
  • Cutting and edging lawns, removing of weeds and dead plants, trimming overgrown limbs, hedges, and leaves, planting new bushes, flowers, plants, and shrubs.
  • Knowledge of pest management and basic lawn maintenance.
  • Snowplowing of municipal parking lots and assorted township roads, as well as shoveling sidewalks as necessary.
  • Pesticide/herbicide licensing favorable, but not required.
