Plumsted Electric Aggregate

Plumsted Residents,

In July 2021, Plumsted Township, as a member of the Manchester Energy Aggregation Procurement Cooperative (MEAPC), awarded a contract to Energy Harbor LLC for electric supply, for the sixth round of the Plumsted Community Energy Aggregation (“PCEA”) program. The two-year contract, which commenced in December 2021, has ended. Unfortunately, prices were not favorable to award a new contract during Fall 2023, and for the near term, the JCP&L Basic Generation Service tariff remains the best option (ie: most cost-effective alternative) for Township residents. Residents will be automatically returned to utility service at their December meter read. The PMUA understands that the letter provided by JPC&L with your December bills may be confusing. Be advised there is nothing you need to do to effectuate this change. The return to JPC&L generation rate is automatic.

The Township will continue to closely monitor the energy market for savings opportunities and will go back out to market as soon as conditions warrant a new bid. The Township will notify residents if and when a new contract is signed, and the program is again active. Please monitor the Township and PMUA websites for updates.
