Street Signs

In the early days streets were generally named after landmarks (such as Bridge or Market), topographic conditions (such as Valley or Water), or specific locations (such as North or South). Not surprisingly, Main Street is the most popular street name in the U.S.

Unfortunately, over time, street signs fade, deteriorate, are accidently damaged or stolen. Their prompt replacement is essential for public safety reasons. However, this is a costly process for Plumsted Township due to the price of extruded aluminum sign blanks, as well as associated production and labor costs for re-installation.

Therefore, residents should be alert for individuals who may be damaging or removing street signs that are Plumsted property. Such actions create an unnecessary expense for the township and its taxpayers. Please, if you see something, say something.
