Vandalism at Recreation Park

Vandalism occurred at the New Egypt Recreation Field between Thursday evening (7/20) and Friday morning (7/21). The situation was quickly identified and addressed by the Plumsted Township Public Works Department. The Plumsted Township Police Department has been notified, and a $500 reward is being offered for information that will lead to prosecution. Please contact the police at their non-emergency number, 609-758-7185, if you have details related to the event. All leads will be kept confidential.

"We’ve made a lot of improvements to our rec facilities this year, so it’s disappointing when something like this occurs. But the bad behavior of one individual or group won’t detract from the progress we’re making,” said Plumsted Township Mayor Bob Bowen. “The overwhelming majority of our residents share our community’s values and demonstrate respect and care on public grounds. We’ll continue to move full-speed ahead on enhancements that improve the quality of life in the township.”

The reward is privately funded through the Mayor's Wellness Campaign at no cost to township residents.
