Resignation of Committeeman

Dear Plumsted Township Resident:

It is with regret that I inform you of a letter of resignation I received from Township Committeeman Thomas Calabrese. His letter, in part states, "It has been a great honor and privilege to serve our great Town this past year, but due to changes both professionally and personally, I am no longer able to serve as Committeeman."

Committeeman Calabrese has been a valued colleague during his tenure, bringing energy and passion to his responsibilities. He has been an outspoken champion for the recreation sports program, as well as the police department, while conducting his liaison duties. Active in our community, Committeeman Calabrese and his wife, Danielle, have two sons who are students at the Dr. Gerald H. Woehr Elementary School.

As the youngest member of the township committee, his voice on behalf of young families has been key during our decision-making process. Additionally, his professional expertise garnered as part of the administration team at the Rutgers University School of Engineering has been beneficial.

I know the entire community joins me in thanking Committeeman Calabrese for his service to our township. Like so many of the leadership roles throughout our community, serving on the Township Committee is a volunteer position balanced with family, professional, and other commitments. While some are able to serve for decades, others make a significant contribution in a short period of time. We are indebted to all our volunteers who make Plumsted Township a great place to live.

Serving our township together,

Mayor Robert W. Bowen
